Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 August 2026
These terms apply to the Doubleknot iOS app and the doubleknot.io website. By using Doubleknot you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Doubleknot does
Doubleknot uses Apple's Screen Time system to block apps and websites you choose until you reach a daily step goal, on your own or together with a team. Blocking depends on iOS features and permissions (Screen Time, HealthKit) that you control — if you revoke them, blocking stops working.
Subscriptions and trials
- Doubleknot offers auto-renewing subscriptions (currently €1.99/month or €10/year — local prices are shown in the app) purchased through your Apple account.
- A free trial may be offered for new users. When the trial ends, blocking is disabled until you subscribe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policies.
- Family Sharing is included where shown.
Teams
Team features share your first name (as you enter it), daily step totals, and goal progress with your teammates. Team admins can set the team goal, invite members, and remove members. Don't join a team whose members you don't want seeing this information.
Not medical advice
Doubleknot is a habit tool, not a medical or fitness service. Step goals are ones you (or your team admin) choose. Consult a doctor before starting a new exercise routine, and set goals that are sensible for you.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the service — including attempting to disrupt our servers, accessing other users' data, or using the service for anything unlawful. We may suspend access that violates these terms.
Safety valve
Doubleknot always includes a way to disable blocking for the day from inside the app (a deliberate press-and-hold). Never rely on app blocking in situations where access to your phone is safety-critical.
Disclaimer and liability
Doubleknot is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including missed notifications, apps unlocking later than expected, or blocking that fails because of iOS restrictions, permissions, or connectivity.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves; the date above reflects the latest change. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
